Derwood Dennis Malone, 92, passed away on June, 15, 2010 in Tyler.
Visitation will be at Caudle-Rutledge Funeral Home from 6:00 to 8:00 pm on June 16, 2010. Services are scheduled for 10:00 am. Thursday, June, 17, 2010, at Mt. Sylvan Baptist Church with Reverend Robert Davenport officiating. Burial will be at the Hopewell Cemetery.

Mr. Malone was born November 20, 1917, in Carroll, Texas to Pete Malone and Hettie Dennis Malone. He was a devoted husband, loving father, and doting papaw. He was a man of high integrity, honesty, and immense faith. He served as a deacon at Mt. Sylvan Baptist Church and was a member of the T.R. Bonner Masonic Lodge #764. He loved to garden, only giving up the plow and horse for a tractor in his late eighties. He was a wonderful storyteller, relaying memories of past customers and adventures as a milkman with Kidd Dairy and as a business owner of Reliable Gas. He was the foundation and rock of his beloved family. All of those he loved and touched will miss his steadfast loyalty, bright twinkling eyes and joyful laugh.

Survivors include wife Jean Clarke Malone, daughter Carolyn Malone Meyer and her husband Gordon, son Judson Dennis Malone and his wife Sherry, brother JP Malone and his wife Bobbie, brother Doyle Malone and his wife Margie, brother Ralph and his wife Oneta, sister Norma Stripling and her husband Joe, brother David and his wife Linda, grandchildren, Valarie Malone Evart, Moody Stephens, Byron Folwell and Dennis Malone Jr.,

He is preceded in death by his first wife Edna Sitton Malone, son Paul Malone, brother Kenneth Malone, and brother Duane Malone.

Pallbearers will be Dennis Malone Jr., Byron Folwell, Vincent King, Mark King, Jay Stephens, and David Guthrie
