Services for Mrs. Opal F. "Nanny" Wilbanks, age 97, of Mt. Sylvan, are scheduled for 10:30 AM on Thursday, June 24, 20l0 in the Mt. Sylvan Baptist Church with Rev.s Robert Davenport & Jack Conley officiating. Interment will be in the Mt. Sylvan Cemetery under the direction of Caudle-Rutledge Funeral Directors in Lindale. Mrs. Wilbanks died on Monday, June 21, 20l0 in a Tyler Hospital. She was born on April 4, 1913 in Smith County to Charles Benjamin & Mattie Pearl Williams Cates and was a lifelong resident of the Mt. Sylvan Community. Mrs. Wilbanks was a member of the Mt. Sylvan Baptist Church and was a retired Seamstress for Sledges & R.L. Davis Manufacturing Companies. She was preceded in death by her Husband, Edward Doyle Wilbanks.
Survived by: Daughter & Son-In-Law: Linda & Connie Hicks of Mt. Sylvan; 3 Grandchildren: Connie Lynn McCarty & husband, John of Magnolia; Susan Penny & husband, Bryan of Chandler & James Hicks & wife, Regina of Mt. Sylvan; 6 Great Grandchildren: Paige, Mitchell & Michael Penny, Dean & Jack McCarty and MaryAnn Hicks.
Pallbearers: Kent Johnson, Cliff Wallace, Winford Stone, Clarence Longino, Bennie McFadden & Ray Rice. Family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Wednesday evening at the Caudle-Rutledge Funeral Home in Lindale.
